Making Mutual Aid the Norm.
Message
Toward a society where supporting one another becomes a natural, feel-good cycle.

GOJOplus was founded in 2024 by a team of professionals with deep roots in international cooperation.
What drives us isn’t one-time aid, but building systems of gojo — mutual aid — where everyone can show up as their true selves.
Rather than fixed roles of “helper” and “helped,” we believe in a world where anyone can give support at one moment and receive it at another.
We want that kind of warm, horizontal connection to simply be the way things are.

We also don’t see domestic and international issues as separate. Insights from Japanese communities inform our work abroad, and lessons learned overseas feed back into our work at home.
By tackling local and global challenges together, we work to create solutions that cross borders and build a better society for everyone.
Not from above, but side by side — as genuine partners.
With professional expertise and a neighborly presence, we keep working to bring the idea of mutual aid into the everyday.

What We Do / Our Work
(Our Three Areas of Focus)

Multicultural Coexistence (Local)
Partners in building community, together
Based in Kumamoto, we create spaces where local residents and foreign nationals can support one another across cultural divides. We nurture relationships built on being true community co-creators, working toward a society where diversity becomes a genuine source of richness.

Support in Malawi (Global)
Standing beside children with disabilities and their families
In Malawi, we provide support for children with disabilities and their families. We work to build networks of mutual aid within local communities, so that those who are most at risk of isolation can live with security and a true sense of belonging.

Support in Myanmar (Global)
Nurturing learning and independence to open up the future
In Myanmar, where communities face immense hardship, we work to improve the quality of education and support livelihoods so people can build stable foundations. We walk alongside local people — using our expertise not to lead, but to support them in moving forward with confidence and pride.
